Mabry

“Come on, May! Let me in! Maybe I need to shower, too,” Jimmy demanded as he banged on the bathroom door I’d been smart enough to lock. I was glad I’d remembered to put clean clothes in the bathroom before I’d gone in search of him, finding him hiding out downstairs in his office to avoid me, just as I’d imagined he’d do while I was on my run.

“No. You’ll just wait out there like a good boy. You have your own shower, remember?” I taunted as I turned on the water and stripped off my shorts after I’d tossed my T-shirt over my shoulder in the bedroom. I was great with a backwards hook shot when I used to play.

I hopped inside and soaped up, thinking about my next move. Clayton and I had come together after a hookup on an app. We hopped into bed together on our first date, going about everything backwards. No way was I going to make the same mistake with Jimmy. Jimmy held possibilities that made me rethink my lonely future.

Jimmy had been hurt by his parents—was still being hurt by his parents—so I had to learn to be patient and make sure he knew I cared about him. He had to understand I wasn’t looking for a fling.

As I washed my junk, I remembered the dream I’d had with Jimmy in my lettermen’s jacket from high school. That was a little fantasy I might play out when I return to L.A. before Christmas, making a mental note to bring the jacket with me.

My cock was hard as oak, me having stroked it a little too much as I was cleaning myself. After I shampooed my hair, I turned the handle and shrieked when ice cold water blasted against my skin.

“You okay in there? Need me to come in there and wash your back?” Jimmy asked through the door. I couldn’t help but laugh as I turned off the water.

I dried off and pulled on boxers and a T-shirt before I combed my hair. Next, I slid my legs into my khakis and opened the door as I pulled on a navy sweater my mother had given me for Christmas a few years ago.

“Damn. You’re already dressed,” Jimmy complained from where he was lying on the unmade bed, his head nestled into my pillow.

“How astute of you to notice. I’m going to the Center to spend the day with my pop, and then, you’re going to come meet me and my mother so we can go to the festival. After we deliver her back to her hotel, you and I are going to come back here, turn on some soft music, and have a drink while we talk about what we want… what we each expect from the other… if there’s a way for the two of us to see if we have a future,” I outlined as I pulled on my socks and grabbed the leather loafers I’d left next to the bed the previous night.
